Diksha I agree with what you just said about the film but showcasing patriotism and nationalism was never the priority, at least in this case. If you have seen the interviews of the makers before the release of the film they have told that it’s more on the life on the life of Gunjan Saxena and it’s nothing to do with nationalism and as far as the kargil war is concerned it just adds as a backdrop of the film, right. Also if you have not watched the interviews I would request you to go and watch the disclaimer that the makers wrote before the start of the film. It is clearly stated that Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is a dramatized version of the flight lieutenant life with no claims of authenticity and whatever is shown in the film is for the sake Entertainment.
I guess Diksha you are in the treacherous terrain between fact and fiction. Another thing I just wanna could you please specifically point me out the scene where exactly the protagonist says that she has no particular interest in India, please specify me with the scene. Because I have seen the movie multiple times and according to me she asks his father just a question like we all do. So please stop pinpointing this lame elements and treat it as a mainstream commercial film. And as far as the reality check is concerned you could check out an interview in doordarshan which interviewed Gunjan subsequent to the kargil war, where she tells the journalists that her only motive to join the Indian Air Force was to fly the plane. Right??? It’s available in YouTube. But by the way thank you so much Diksha for the criticizing it constructively. Don’t take it in some other way, it’s just a piece of information I wanted to share with you.
